Featured Winery - Spyglass Ridge

We visited this lovely winery, nestled in the heart of the Susquehanna Heartland Wine Trail in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, earlier this month. We were struck by the bucolic setting, so quiet and serene, and were surprised to learn that this winery packs 'em in for some great rock bands!! Cheap Trick was set to perform the next week, while Heart had made an appearance in the summer. Wow! You need to check this place out, just for a cool concert venue. But we were here for the wine...

Yum. Everything we tasted was at least "good" with several "greats" to feature. We were in a sweet mood, so we skipped the dries for another day and dove right in to a lovely, crisp Riesling. Loved the sweet finish and could really pick up on the hints of pear. Delish!

Who doesn't love a blend? The Spycat was so easy to sip - it tastes like fruit punch to us! We had to grab a bottle of this blush, which is a blend of Catawba and Chambourcin. It's no wonder this is their best seller - even your non-wino friends would find this palatable. Not for those who do not like fruity and sweet however.

Last, we had to finish off summer with the quintessential taste of the season - Strawberry! Very sweet, fresh, tastes of pure berry deliciousness. This was the perfect purchase to close out summer with.

We truly enjoyed our visit, and plan to make a stop soon to sample the dry selections. Also, the place is expanding - we heard talk of a restaurant being added. And the folks there were so lovely and helpful. A great stop, well worth a feature from the Divas!
